This illustration was done as a background for a Black History Month poster commemorating the 50th anniversary of Brown v. Topeka Board of Education. The image is a detail of a sculpture on the façade of the Supreme Court building in D.C. There is a portrait of Chief Justice Thurgood Marshall in the lower right corner of the poster, but since this was done just after starting to work on my portraiture skills, I’m too embarrassed to share it. I guess it’s pretty bad when the background image is better than the foreground!
